Unique Skull Projects

I put together a few skull projects that show a diversity of styles and techniques.

They are created with hand tools and are uniquely designed using copper and brass.

Jolly Rodger Skull

The Jolly Rodger was a commission by a fellow blacksmith.

He was part of a cross sword and skull shield. The skull is a single piece of copper sheet and the eye patch a second.

I truly enjoyed the repoussé process creating this piece,

Skull Horn Cover

This Skull Horn Cover was built for a custom Harley Davison Motorcycle. This skull design was used within the airbrushed tank as well as several other parts of this bike.

The cover form was hammered from a sheet of copper. Then the brass and copper skull and flames were torch overlayed. The bracket was both riveted and silver soldered to create maximum durability.

Engraved Harley Headers

These Harley headers are mounted on the same custom bike as the skull horn cover.

The engraved skulls are the same stylized skulls designed by the owner for this project.

Engraving is a process where metal is removed from the parent stock with small chisels.
