Roadrunner and Quail

Since roadrunners and quails are seldom in the desert together, my challenge was to place them by each other. The roadrunner is preoccupied with his lizard lunch, so all is well.

The central tree is forged using steel pipe and solid round steel bar, The birds are created to scale using pieces cut from steel sheet. The accent stone is Arizona copper ore set with steel prongs onto the base plate. I used a combination of torch flame and patinas to color the steel before the clear coat was applied.
