“Sea Bass” Wall Sculpture

The Sea Bass wall sculpture was inspired by my younger years living along the New England coast. The sea bass were forms formed out of sheet steel. The process I chose is called repoussé which indicates the metal is primarily hit from the back using small punches and hammers. The copper sheet was torch cut giving them their kelp-like edge. The slate is prong mounted into the design anchoring the kelp into the design. The bass and kelp were flame colored. There is a steel frame to accent the design and mount to a wall.
